2027 Ford Bronco vs. 2026: What Changed?
The biggest changes for the 2027 Ford Bronco are expanded 3.0L EcoBoost V6 availability, new RTR and Filson models, new colors, and revised seating and equipment packages. Ford also removes the 2.7L V6 and several special-edition choices from the order guide.
For shoppers in Huntsville comparing a 2026 and 2027 Bronco, those changes make the engine, body style and equipment group worth checking together. This article covers the Bronco two-door and four-door lineup. Bronco Sport is a separate model.

2027 Bronco changes at a glance
| What changed? | 2027 details | What to compare |
|---|---|---|
| V6 engine choices | The 2.7L is removed. A 3.0L V6 becomes optional on Outer Banks, four-door Badlands and Heritage Edition, and standard on Filson. | Engine availability depends on model and body style; the V6 uses a 10-speed automatic. |
| New models | RTR and Filson join the lineup. | RTR emphasizes off-road equipment and distinctive styling; Filson adds premium cabin features. |
| Big Bend Mid Package | A heated steering wheel joins the package. | Look for equipment group 222A. |
| Outer Banks seating | Mid uses cloth; Lux uses premium vinyl with power front seats. | Seat material and adjustment differ from 2026. |
| Colors | Neptune Blue joins the palette. Filson adds Field Green Metallic and, with First Edition, Iron Sands Copper Metallic. | Paint choices have model and package restrictions. |
| Connectivity | A 5G modem replaces the 4G modem across the lineup. | Connected services still depend on activation, coverage and applicable plans. |
| Departing choices | Stroppe Edition, Big Bend Free Wheeling and the Outer Banks 60th Anniversary Package are deleted. | Shoppers seeking those configurations should compare available earlier-model vehicles. |
Which 2027 Bronco models offer the 3.0L V6?
The October 13, 2026 order guide lists the new 3.0L EcoBoost V6 as optional on Outer Banks, four-door Badlands and Heritage Edition, and standard on Filson. These applications use a 10-speed automatic transmission. The two-door Badlands does not receive this V6 option.
Ford’s public 2027 Bronco announcement lists 380 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque for the newly expanded 3.0L offering. Bronco Raptor remains a separate configuration with its own high-output 3.0L engine specification; an engine’s displacement alone does not make two Broncos equivalent.
The 2.3L EcoBoost four-cylinder continues in the lineup. For drivers who want a manual transmission, the order guide pairs the seven-speed manual with the 2.3L on eligible models. The Badlands Wildtrak Package also changes for 2027, replacing its previous 2.7L V6 with the 3.0L V6.
What is new about the Bronco RTR?
The 2027 Bronco RTR is a new four-door series with a 2.3L EcoBoost engine and 10-speed automatic transmission. Its standard equipment includes high-clearance suspension, 33-inch rugged-terrain tires and distinctive RTR details.
The optional Sasquatch Package with RTR Suspension adds 35-inch tires, HOSS 3.0 suspension with FOX internal bypass dampers, and a heavy-duty modular front bumper. Compare the standard RTR and this package separately when deciding which equipment fits your intended trails.
What does the new Bronco Filson include?
Filson combines a standard 3.0L V6 and automatic transmission with a four-door body and a more extensively equipped interior. The order guide lists heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, power running boards, a full-display rearview mirror and a 12-speaker B&O sound system. Its Sasquatch equipment includes 35-inch tires and HOSS 3.0 suspension with unique tuning.
Field Green Metallic is exclusive to Filson. Iron Sands Copper Metallic requires the Filson First Edition Package, which includes full-vehicle steel bash plates and two removable interior storage bags. First Edition is a specific package within the Filson series; confirm it on the equipment listing if that color is your priority.
Interior and package changes that are easy to miss
Outer Banks: check Mid versus Lux
For 2027, Outer Banks Mid (312A) has cloth seats, while Lux (314A) has premium vinyl with a 10-way power driver’s seat and an eight-way power passenger seat. The previous standard leather-trimmed/vinyl seating and Mid-package power seats are removed.
Outer Banks Lux now includes a 10-speaker B&O system; a 12-speaker system is a separate option. Four-door Badlands Lux follows that 10-speaker/optional 12-speaker arrangement, while two-door Badlands Lux retains the 12-speaker system.
Badlands: a seating option can also change the floor
The new Marine Grade Vinyl option with Dark Khaki accents is offered with Badlands Mid and Lux groups. On four-door models, it adds power front seats. The order guide also specifies that this option replaces the standard rubberized flooring with carpet. If easy interior cleanup is a priority, compare the flooring as carefully as the seat material.
Lighting and remote start need an equipment check
LED signature headlamp lighting and LED taillamps move out of standard Outer Banks and Badlands equipment and appear as options. That change concerns the signature lighting and taillamps; the guide still lists standard LED headlamps.
Remote Start System and additional USB ports also move out of several standard or Mid-package lists. Remote Start remains listed with Outer Banks Lux and with Badlands Lux when equipped with the automatic transmission. Check the complete equipment group before assuming a familiar feature carries over unchanged.
What colors are new for the 2027 Bronco?
Neptune Blue joins the Bronco color choices. Field Green Metallic is reserved for Filson, and Iron Sands Copper Metallic requires Filson’s First Edition Package. The guide deletes Velocity Blue Metallic and Orange Fury Metallic Tri-coat for 2027. Color availability varies by model and package.
2027 Bronco questions shoppers ask
Can I get the new 3.0L V6 with a manual transmission?
No. The listed 3.0L configurations use the 10-speed automatic. The seven-speed manual is paired with the 2.3L engine on eligible models.
Is Wildtrak a separate 2027 Bronco trim?
The guide lists Wildtrak as a package for four-door Badlands. It includes the 3.0L V6, automatic transmission, Sasquatch equipment, HOSS 3.0 suspension and the Black Appearance Package.
Should I choose a 2026 or 2027 Bronco?
The new V6 availability, RTR and Filson models give shoppers specific reasons to consider 2027. A 2026 may suit someone who prefers the 2.7L V6, a departing appearance package or a particular seating configuration. Compare the actual vehicle’s equipment, price and availability against the features you plan to use.
